Mother’s Day Gift Ideas 2021
Mark your calendars! Mother’s Day 2021 is on May 9th. Now, there is no time like the present to plan and get your Mother’s Day gift ideas in order, especially if you plan to order a gift online!
2020 was a difficult time for many families dealing with the pandemic. Most of us were forced to stay away from our loved ones. In 2021 there is a glimmer of hope with the uptick in vaccinations. Are you still waiting to get your vaccine? No worries. You can still send your mom some love on her special day.
While celebrating the moms in our lives, we can also support local small businesses impacted by COVID-19. Shop small businesses this year instead of buying from large companies. You will find so many cute Mother’s Day gift ideas to be in local boutiques, bakeries, and more.
This post is not sponsored, and there are no affiliate links. Below are simply some wonderful small businesses to support in the Greater Boston Area. Happy Mother’s Day in advance!
Apparel & Accessories
Ash & Rose
Website: https://www.ashandrose.com/
This ethical and sustainable boutique in Boston was originally located in the South End. Unfortunately, they were forced to close their physical location in 2020 due to a flood. The good news is that you can still shop for Mother’s Day gifts via their online store! They have a ton of stylish clothes, jewelry, accessories, and more.
Lit Boutique
Website: https://litboutique.com/
Lit Boutique is an adorable boutique with locations in the North End and Back Bay areas of Boston. They have stunning and trendy apparel and accessories. You will be able to find a very stylish gift for your loved one for Mother’s Day without any issue. Personally, I have always loved their jewelry.
Wyllo
Website: https://www.shopwyllo.com/
This shop is located in the SoWa Art/Design District of Boston. Lyss is the owner, and she got her start in the corporate jewelry world before creating her own small business. The shop has stunning jewelry, apparel, home goods, and self-care items. You won’t be at a loss for finding the perfect Mother’s Day gift.
Baked Goods
Clarke’s Cakes & Cookies
Website: https://www.clarkescakesandcookies.com/
This bakery is a Black-owned and women-owned business in Dorchester. They create tasty treats that are vegan, dairy-free, and non-GMO. While most of their baked goods are for local pickup only, their cookies and brownies are available to be shipped! Check out their Facebook to see them mixing up delicious desserts in their bakery.
Tatte Bakery & Cafe
Website: https://shop.tattebakery.com/
Tatte is still one of my favorite cafes in the Boston area. Check out my other post to learn more about my other favorite local cafes. This business began in Tzurit Or’s Boston home. She used to sell her own baked goods at local markets in Boston before opening her first café in Brookline. Now there are several locations in the area. Your mom will definitely appreciate any delicious treat sent from this bakery. Many of their cakes, tarts, and pies are available to be shipped nationwide! I will highlight three below.
Books & Unique Gifts
Brookline Booksmith’s Books + Gift Shop
Website: https://www.brooklinebooksmith.com/browse-gifts
Do you have a book lover in your family? Then take a look at Brookline Booksmith’s incredible book collection. They even have a big gift shop now that they have expanded their store. I would highly recommend visiting this shop in Brookline when you get a chance. If you don’t feel comfortable going to the store, then you can shop their online store. You won’t be at a loss to find the perfect books for Mother’s Day.
Flowers
Brattle Square Florist
Website: https://brattlesquareflorist.com/
I have visited this shop located in Cambridge several times to pick up a succulent or two. I love how the shop owner is always super friendly and helpful. The shop has beautiful floral arrangements that will delight your mom this Mother’s Day. To make things easier for you, they are even open 7 days a week. You can learn if your zip code meets their delivery radius by viewing their delivery page. They also offer pickup, of course. Due to the high demand for Mother’s Day flowers, get your order in by May 1st ideally.
Skincare
Brown & Coconut
Website: https://brownandcoconut.com/shop/
Who doesn’t love a little self-care on Mother’s Day? Sisters Letisha and Zeena started their shop originally as a lifestyle blog back in 2013. They then decided to create a holistic skincare line to help others heal their skin issues. A big plus is that their skincare line is plant-based, vegan, and free of harmful chemicals. Your mom will definitely appreciate such a special gift on Mother’s Day.
