Where did I get my travel obsession?

There was a time when I wasn’t that crazy about the idea of getting on a plane because I was terrified of flying. Yet, I always wanted to see the world so when I was 25 I went to South Korea to teach abroad for two years.

My 18 hour long haul flight was my very first time flying. I was nervous and downright terrified to drop it all and go, but it was the best thing I ever did. After that, I was hooked on traveling!

What’s my story?

I am from a very small town of 1,900 people near Somerset, Pennsylvania. My town is quite beautiful with the rolling Laurel Highlands and the lush green forests. Growing up I was always outside playing in the woods or in the yard. My dad would also often take me fishing.

My parents gave me the nickname ‘Nel Belle’ hence the name of this blog. As far as other places I’ve lived, I went to college in Maryland and worked in Seoul and Houston.
